In founding Field Ready, our vision is guided by a radical transformation in the way that needs are met in domestic disasters, developing countries and other low resource areas. Our approach embraces a respect for others, an openness to learning and experimentation and a readiness to work with a broad range of stakeholders. We follow a set of integrated principles including:
Professionalism: Efficiently operate in a financially sustainable manner that is oriented toward effective programs, positive change and learning. In respecting users, staff and other stakeholders, it is vital that this is carried out in harmony with the other missions below.
Quality: Effectively develop products and services that are practical, unique and of high quality for people in need and those who work in response. These balance protection, gender and environmentally concerns to the greatest extent possible.
Partnership: The enormous challenges faced in humanitarian contexts cannot be met by one organization alone. We strive to work in close cooperation with others who share the same goals. This includes especially those who are affected by disasters themselves – their participation is vital to our approach.
Adherence to humanitarian principles including humanity, independence and impartiality. We are committed to building the resilience of people in crisis regardless of their race, national origin, religion or political affiliation.
Recognizing the acute limitations of humanitarian aid especially in remote and low resource areas, the founders of Field Ready came together with extensive qualifications and a deep passion for working on grand challenges. We were founded on a belief that the right application of appropriate and disruptive technology, coupled with a keen understanding of real-world problems can lead to profound and transformational breakthroughs.
Field Ready was founded by professionals in humanitarian relief, technical services, design and engineering. Our combined experiences totals many decades in developing countries and disaster stricken areas as well as various technical skills. Taking hard earned lessons from places like the Horn of Africa and Central Asia, we’ve borrowed from the best of Silicon Valley to conceive a meaningful and transformational approach to the challenges of humanitarian relief and working in the most remote and challenging places on the planet.
Field Ready is a non-governmental, non-profit organization (501c3 registered in the US) and has partners worldwide.
