"The Nerve Centre was established in 1990 to provide a creative outlet for youth culture and the many young people who felt excluded from the ""arts sector"".Described as 'One of the most dynamic and innovative multi-media centres in the British Isles', the Oscar-nominated centre is housed in a new state of the art building that includes edit suites, rehearsal and recording studios, in-house animation and film production studios, a bar, coffee house, cinema and two venues (capacity 600 & 100) as well as one of Ireland’s first Fab Labs.More than 120,000 people a year benefit from the Nerve Centre’s wide-ranging programme of arts events, cutting edge projects, creative learning centres, training opportunities, and state-of-the-art production facilities. A successful social economy enterprise, the Nerve Centre employs more than 40 staff at sites in Derry~Londonderry and Belfast."
