Nei prossimi dieci anni ciò che abbiamo imparato verrà applicato al mondo reale. La rivoluzione digitale è stata in gran parte limitata agli schermi. Tutto ciò sta per cambiare, perché la produzione di oggetti è diventata digitale. Ora i beni materiali prendono vita come disegni su uno schermo e questi disegni possono essere condivisi online sotto forma di file. Negli ultimi decenni questo avveniva nelle fabbriche e negli studi di progettazione, ma ora sta accadendo anche sui personal computer e nel proprio appartamento. Chiunque abbia un’invenzione o un buon progetto può inviare il suo file ad uno store che produce l’oggetto, in piccoli lotti o in grandi quantità, oppure realizzarlo lui stesso con alcuni strumenti digitali di fabbricazione, come le stampanti 3D. Gli aspiranti inventori o imprenditori non sono più alla merce delle grandi aziende per vedere realizzati i loro prodotti. Oggi la gente è ancora incredula e stupita dal potenziale di questi nuovi strumenti, non più pioneristici ma facili da usare come le stampanti a getto d’inchiostro. Inoltre, anche i programmi open source di modellazione 3D sono di facile utilizzo. Online sono presenti librerie assolutamente gratuite, dove si possono trovare file di svariati oggetti da poter stampare a casa nostra o allo store più vicino. La filosofia del 3D printing e dei makers si sta diffondendo in tutto il mondo, fondando la sua forza sull’azione locale, attraverso un network internazionale di scambio e conoscenza. Questa filosofia vuole favorire la creatività e il DIY (do it yourself) attraverso l’accessibilità per tutti alle macchine di fabbricazione digitale; vuole costruire gruppi di interesse intorno alle idee e ai progetti, per una nuova imprenditorialità che superi le logiche del marketing tradizionale e assuma valenze sociali in unione d’intenti con le istituzioni (Enti, Associazioni, Scuole, ecc). 3DiTALY fornisce ai creativi, alle scuole, alle imprese e a tutti i cittadini le macchine e l’attrezzatura necessaria per dar corpo alle proprie idee, permettendo a ogni utente di sviluppare una cultura del fare e di acquisire le competenze necessarie per trasformare le proprie idee in prototipi e prodotti. La nostra filosofia vuole sovvertire le filiere della produzione industriale, accorciando fino al chilometro zero la distanza fra inventore e imprenditore: questo significa vicinanza con l’utilizzo di materiali ecologici, riciclo e personalizzazione degli oggetti, azzerando completamente la filiera della grande distribuzione. La stampa 3D ed il suo possibile impiego cambieranno la nostra concezione dei consumi rimettendo la creatività umana al centro dell’equazione. L’obbiettivo è quello di capire da dove soffia questa brezza e quanto lontano potrà portarci nei prossimi anni. Chi ha una stampante 3D ha anche un posto in prima fila per assistere e partecipare ad una nuova rivoluzione culturale. Rivoluzione culturale, prima che industriale, in quanto si pone in antitesi ad una società iperspecializzata che ci ha resi inetti a svolgere qualunque attività non rientri esattamente delle nostre “competenze”. Impariamo a farci da noi quel che ci serve e ci emanciperemo dalle sirene consumistiche che ci invitano a circondarci di oggetti e merci, spesso inutili, troppo costosi, soggetti ad obsolescenza programmata e fabbricati in outsourcing sfruttando ambiente e lavoratori nelle aree povere del pianeta.
