Embedded Electronics 3D Printer Voxel8 Is Shipping

The Developer’s Kit for the World’s first low cost embedded electronics 3D printer is now shipping. Developed by a Harvard team led by bioprinting technologies expert Prof. Jennifer Lewis, and announced to the world in 2015, the Voxel8 extrusion 3D printer was welcomed by an enthusiastic response to the vision of enabling functional additive manufacturing with advanced materials.

Google Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP), Voxel8’s first customer, said “We want the first one!” and today that is happening. The  backlog of pre-orders will be fulfilled as quickly as possible over the coming months. If you pre-ordered our Developer’s Kit, you will soon receive an email update with the targeted ship date for your printer.

An Affordable Embedded Electronics 3D Printer

Although Voxel8 have moved into full product release, for a limited time they are offering the Developer’s Kit at the pre-order price of $8,999. Now is the last chance to access this pricing via the company’s website or through direct contact to pay via purchase order.

In addition to the standard Developer’s Kit package, Voxel8 now offer two additional packages for customers requiring extra support and software features. The Professional package offers additional support as well as advanced toolpathing configuration options, while the Enterprise package offers a fully supported behind-the-fence software solution.

For those of you who are curious about how the Developer’s Kit is manufactured, here is a short video. Many of the components are sourced and manufactured locally before final assembly, calibration, and burn-in take place at Voxel8’s facility in Somerville, MA. From there they are shipped to customers around the world.
