From the runways of Milan to some of the many museum exhibits in New York City, 3D printed clothing garments and accessories have continued to become a prominent force in the fashion industry. This Friday, in Cordoba, Argentina, 3D printed fashion hit the stage for “3D Fashion Day”, the first-ever 3D printing fashion show to grace Latin America. The show will take place during the 2nd annual Cordoba-based “Congress of 3D printing and Digital Fabrications”, where ten clothing designers, both locally and internationally-based, will gather alongside field experts to showcase their latest creations with 3D printing technology.

3D Fashion Day will include a collection of 30 dresses that have been produced with 3D printing, digital fabrication, and robotics. Along with the designers, a number of artists, robotics and engineering students from a number of universities, and 3D printing manufacturers and supplies from Argentina will all participate in the fashion extravaganza. The event aims to showcase the revolutionary and disruptive value that additive manufacturing could soon provide to the fashion industry. In addition to the 3D printed showcase on the runway, the event will also feature sample drones and robots made with 3D printing, as well as 3D printers in action, workshops, and live 3D scanning.
The runway for the fashion show will be installed at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, taking place in conjunction with the “2nd Congress of 3D printing and Digital Fabrications”, which will be held on the very same day within the Córdoba Cultural Center.
At the event, speakers will include experts from the prestigious National University of Cordoba, along with locally-based representatives from companies like Life SI, Chimak 3D, INTI Plastics & Textiles, and many more. A wide range of subjects will be covered during the conference, such as food printing, bioprinting, construction, and 3D scanning, among others. Renowned Latin American designers Benito Fernandez and Ricky Sarkany will participate in the 3D Fashion Day show, among other special guests.
The fashion show and conference, which was organized by La Cámara Argentina de Impresión 3D y Fabricaciones Digitales in collaboration with Hacedores and Like3D, will being on June 17 at 9AM. The event is free to register for and attend, offering Venezuelans and other Latin American innovators a platform to showcase the latest in 3D printing technology.
