Hearables 3D was born from PhD research at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. With the development of 3D scanning technology, we identified a gap in how the technology can be combined with 3D printing. Based on the understanding that the majority of customized products are created manually, a PhD research project began with the goal to revolutionise this process by bridging 3D scanning and 3D printing with a system for automating 3D data customization.
