Headquartered in Shimizu-cho, Japan, Kimura Foundry Group is one of the largest independent full-service manufacturers of iron, steel, and specialty alloy castings. Founded in 1927, the company has been owned and operated by four successive generations of the Kimura family. Today, Kimura employs more than 900 people at ten facilities in Japan and the United States and serves the automotive, construction machinery, pump, and industrial equipment industries with high-precision castings.  

Profile Description

Kimura Direct Molding Process, DMP, utilizes 3D sand printers to directly produce sand molds without any initial tools. 3D CAD data will be used to perform casting simulations and the optimal casting design will be directly printed out. This technology provides fast delivery and freedom in design, making complex castings such as topological structures with high accuracy producible. Casting solutions for R&D prototypes and aftermarket parts are provided in materials such as cast iron, stainless steel, heat resistant steel and aluminum.

 

By specializing in the Full Mold Castings Process for over 50 years, we have become capable as a supplier into a lot of new fields. Simultaneously, we also have developed manufacturing technologies based on Information Technology (IT), such as modeling by CAD/CAM, various measurement systems and casting simulation through production mainly of Full Mold Casting. As a result, we succeeded to establish a new casting technology integrating the Full Mold Casting and IT. We now continue strongly to step forward, applying our technologies to utilizations of 3D printers, reverse engineering and so on.
