Our company’s mission is to make the chemistry of 3D printer resins easy and accessible.
ProLab Materials Srl directly research and produce new materials, specifically Photopolymers for UV 3D Printers and Advanced Thermosetting for the production of Composites.

Company

ProLab Materials Srl is an innovative startup based in Turin (Italy).
The company was founded at the end of 2016, thanks to the experience gained by the founders in the field of production and formulation of epoxy resins tailored to the industry.
ProLab is incubated at the 2i3T incubator of the University of Turin.
Our customers are manufacturers of 3D printers, 3D Services and Mechanical Designers that produce custom solutions for the industry.

R&D objectives

We can formulate materials with different objectives. Here you can find some features that are normally required for the development of new photopolymers:

  1. Print Accuracy
    Clear and precise resins in the reproduction of the micro-details of the printed objects.
  2. Tough
    Hard and resistant resins, which allow joints and screwing without developing cracks.
  3. Castable
    Able to melt in a temperature ramp, a micro-casting technique used in jewelery.
  4. Improved Transparency
    Transparent resins, from low yellowing, from limited whitening.
  5. Zero Contraction
    Hard resins with high dimensional printing precision, to avoid any restriction on the desired measurements.
  6. Impact
    Elastic resins capable of withstanding impact from falling from limited heights, without classic brittle breaking of thermosetting resins.
  7. Functional loads
    Rescales containing dispersed charges that improve certain characteristics, silica sand, carbonaceous fillers (BioChar), glass, flame retardant additives.
  8. Substrate Compatibility
    Silicone, Fluoropolymer, Custom Solutions.
  9. Sensitivity to Different Sources
    UV <385nm, UV-Vis around 405nm, Vis> 430nm.

After the development phase, we are able to produce in industrial volumes the recipe and supplying it to the client in the preferred amounts.
