Wematter, a Swedish manufacturer of SLS 3D printers, has launched a SLS 3D printer and an ecosystem supporting design engineers producing durable 3D-printed components in an office environment or workshop.
The uniqueness is in the powder handling and mechanical properties. The Gravity uses pneumatic systems to transport, dose and also evacuate powder in a closed system. Special algorithms stacking 3D-models and calculating laser paths together with material scientists Wematter has shown exceptional mechanical properties in their printed parts.
“Mechanical properties and ease of use has always been our main targets and we think it is the best path for changing behaviour towards additive manufacturing.” – Robert Kniola, founder and CEO at Wematter.
Founded in 2014, Wematter has been developing its SLS platform with the target to lower the barriers for the SLS technology. The founders Robert Kniola and Henrik Lundgren worked with SLS printers, injection moulding and milling and saw what needed to be done to get more engineers to work with SLS 3D-printing.
