IN(3D)USTRY Will Bring 3D Printing to All Industrial Sectors in 2017

The second edition of the IN(3D)USTRY – From Needs to Solutions show, set to take place from to October 3-5 in Hall 3 of the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via campus, will present some of the most successful cases that were made possible by the application of additive and advanced manufacturing in four major industrial sectors (Automotive, Aeronautics, Retail and Health).

The event organized by Fira de Barcelona will work to promote the use of this technology, also known as three-dimensional (3D) printing, among all industrial sectors. In order to achieve this goal, IN(3D)USTRY will leverage the participation of companies, active in these major user industries, that will present their experiences and the results achieved through the application of advanced and additive manufacturing. These innovators will also, in turn, launch their future challenges to the event’s exhibitors, including large 3D printer manufacturers and other agents in this sector’s value chain.

“The second edition of IN(3D)USTRY – From Needs to Solutions wants to be the point where the challenges proposed by companies in sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, retail and health meet with solutions form 3D printer manufacturers, softwqare developers and robotics developers,” said the show’s director, Miquel Serrano.

In this sense, Serrano considers that “events like ours also have an added value in that they can help to build a community among all sectors involved in the development and use of additive and advanced manufacturing.” Playing in to this approach, the Fira de Barcelona event and the Leitat Technology Institute are the founding partners of Hybrick, an business accelerator project based on this technology and launched in 2016.

The IN(3D)USTRY Arena will be the section dedicated to innovation. It enjoyed great success in the 2016 edition and this year again will host several presentations and exhibit a wide range of products, including the latest 3D printers and machine tools. All companies present are going to represent key parts pf the advanced and additive manufacturing value chain.

The IN(3D)USTRY 2017 offer will be completed by the presentation of the prestigious Reshape awards, a competition that aims to promote the use of wearable technologies and brings together some of the most important 3D designers in the world. Members of the international jury, include Dutch 3D textile designer Cecilia Raspanti, American art creator Grace Jun and Scottish architect Adrian Welch, who will also participate as speakers at the event.

With the aim of bringing additive and advanced manufacturing to all industrial sectors, the 2017 edition will take place within the framework of the Barcelona Industry Week, which includes Expoquimia for the chemical industry, the Eurosurfas surface treatment salon, the Equiplast competition for the plastics sector and the IoT Solutions World Congress, a trade fair focusing on industrial internet.
