Paxis Introduces New WAV 3D Printing Technology

Paxis LLC, have launched their new company and its pioneering additive manufacturing and 3D printing WAV (Wave Applied Voxel) technology.  An entirely new, scalable, industrial additive manufacturing technology, it is designed to conquer the limitations of existing technologies, with projected speeds of 4x, 8x, 24x+ of the fastest large vat systems on the market. WAV has exponentially upgradeable speeds with modular hardware expansions, all while yielding a lower cost of operation.

The patent pending WAV process by Paxis is an entirely new technology imagined and designed from the ground up, by a small team within CIDEAS Inc. (buildparts.com), an industrial 3D printing service bureau, with its roots dating back to 1998.

Mike Littrell, founder of Paxis LLC and co-inventor of WAV stated, “WAV’s large build area and truly unique production method is ideal for large investment casting masters, large parts and large batch builds of smaller parts built on one platform.

“WAV (pronounced wave) is a truly scalable, modular industrial additive manufacturing technology, which is expandable in both build size and speed.  The attributes of the WAV process will allow resin developers to re-think material development which was hindered by the limitations of previous technologies.”

Littrel is also the founder of CIDEAS, one of the most experienced 3D printing service provider in the US focusing primarily on the automotive industry. Founded in 1998, CIDEAS is a full-service, Additive Manufacturing (AM) and 3D Printing Center with over 30 in-house machines. Capabilities include: Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), PolyJet, CLIP (added in 2016), Urethane Casting, and Part Finishing.

Within the last few years, CIDEAS has expanded its SLA and SLS services with the addition of seven, new, large-frame additive manufacturing machines from 3D Systems and became the first service center to run an iPro 8000 with Xtreme White 200. Most recently, the company was chosen by Carbon to be the first service bureau in the world to enter the “Early Access” Beta program. Now the company is putting all this experience in the the WAV system and chances are it will be worth wating for.
